Rk tech direct replacement pistons.

I put a set in a buddies 2012 800 Assault and he has 2100 miles on the pistons so far, with 4000 miles on the sled (new warranty engine at 960 miles).
He's 260 lbs and has two speeds... off and pinned in 90% deep snow.
BUT...His maintenance is top-notch on the whole sled.
He does, now, run high quality Legend oil with the oil pump turned up, vented oil cap, 100:1 premix ... good fuel and cleans his injectors every year.
His sled is properly warmed up every time (even with the previous factory pistons).
The sled now has a total of 4000 miles on it... He's getting himself some new pistons, Millenium re-nicasil on the cylinders ... and new bearings seals on the crank (and chassis for that matter) for good measure as he will probably be putting over 3500 hard miles on the sled this year.

Rkt pistons
I have a drop in kit with 3500 miles on it runs just as good now as it did new, compression is good, it has not been pulled down and measured, don't see any reason for it.

only 1000 miles so far but all on turbo and they are still way over factory compression specs and they look perfect.

What maintenance is there to do besides grease it often?
If you have a season on the sled... Pull and disassemble/grease the skid.

Have your injectors cleaned
Replace the fuel filter
New spark plugs.
Pull your fuel tank and check to see if ethanol fuel has degraded the pickup lines
Clean the sled
Possibly replace your jack/drive shaft bearings
Service the clutches... checking/correcting any issues with ALL components.
Replace springs that have more than a year use on them.
Service your shocks that have a full season of use.
Check all bushings in the front suspension and replace as needed.
Check all of the steering bushings and arms/joints... replace as needed.
Clean your exhaust valves and use a NEW gasket when re- installing.
Pull your ski pivot bolts and bushings and grease them before they rust so bad you cant remove them.
There are other things as well... thats off the top of my head... on a Monday.
