Oh man, sorry to see that Toby. Hope for speedy recovery. Did you do that while riding? Hit something?

No, I wish I had a cool story. I had a bike fall over in the garage and it hit me just under the knee with the seat and snapped both. I am healing and wishing I could be riding. I am just now getting back to the customer builds, and the Red Ranger will be on the lift soon for the 2019 Super Hero build. :)

That’s very cool to see all those numbers Toby. I bet you can feel quit a difference between Thor and Wonder Woman. I’m hoping to weigh my setup soon

Boy that beats my excuse. Hope you have a fast recovery.
No one riding today and even my better halve busted up her knee last weekend and is still in gimp mode -- and working tomorrow.
Snow sucks up here anyway. To manny landmines with limited snow.
Thats what bit here last weekend.

Thanks for doing this write up ! My buddy and I are building a 18 YZ450 /yeti 129SS and I was curious where the weight would be with such a light kit. Now if we can just get yeti or the dealer to send us the rest of the parts we’ll be in business.

I do not sell any Yeti 120’s any more.

They only make the 120SS now in 2019. It is is a cut paddle snow cross only kit. It is to small for back country.

The 129SS is a 10.5” wide track and has the same footprint as the 120 12 1/2 inch wide, so there is no need to have a 120 12 1/2 inch wide anymore. Plus the 129 SS rolls and feels much more like a tire with it’s 5 1/2 inch rail spacing versus all other kits with 8 3/4 inch wide rail spacing. This 8 3/4 inch wide rail spacing is on all TS mountain horse and ARO, and Yeti 12 1/2 wide kits.

The 129SS Yeti is 20 pounds lighter than a 120 ARO.

So that’s my problem, I suck

LOL, The SS 129 is tippier and the hardest of all kits to learn on. the narrow rails and track make it less forgiving however it pulls a full gear higher and spins the track much faster than heavier tracks,It does not have the flotation at slow speeds to crawl however makes up for it in both bike and track speed, its very fast in comparison to the wider tracks, much less drag.I was skeptical as well however the 10 wide surely rips.I will be weighing a 2019 factory edition 450 KTM with the 129ss and carbon wheels soon.

Advanced in what -- Age -- Ability to get stuck -- Fall down with no reason:face-icon-small-dis

All fun aside I feel the same about the ARO 120 Just more fun but more work and speed required to make it work in deep stuff. Track speed and gearing is higher.
Thats the way I run it.

Thats surprising how light the new 500's are. I knew they were lighter than the previous generation but didn't realize it was that much.

Not only that, but after they are stripped down to a off-road only setup they RIP!!!!! I have never been a 500 fan until this season. The new motor makes top end, free revving 450, kind of power. While the bottom end grunt pulls you through. I would not say its my all out favorite, but it has jumped to at least second spot.

They are also not a budget build by far, there is some real money spent to make these things work. It is totally worth it!!!

The pile of blinkers, switches, and mis parts that come off this bike requires a larger box than any other build that comes out of my shop. It is no wonder the advertised weights are so high on this bike.

I love what they have done with this new KTM 500EXE. I can not wait to build the new 2019 KTM 350SX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who wants one? I am predicting a 275lb., hair on fire, tree ripping, machine.
