Exhaust valve solenoid question

So the other day the engine light came on my brother's sled, a '14 pro. It didn't go into limp mode, or seem to act differently at all. Got home and checked the manual, the code was for the exhaust valve solenoid. We checked it, and sure enough, one of the wires coming off of it was broken off right at the end. Talked to my uncle who used to work on sleds quite a bit, and he said on his older skidoo, there were no wires at all.

So my question is, will the sled be fine to fun like this?

Do the wires operate the solenoid at all, or just send the code to the gauge?

Fix it. The old ski doo's were completely different in how they work.

New one is in the mail but won't be here on time to ride this weekend. I was just curious if it would still work in the meantime

No, it will not work the same, no pressure to control valve opening. Sure, you can ride it, but you'll be down on power at most RPMs. Doo RAVE is a different design, as stated (and was a damn good and simple and patented one).
