NEW C&A PRO SKIS...WOW!

I decided to upgrade the skis in an attempt to keep the front end on top of the snow. The guys at C&A Pro treated me right and hooked me up with 2 sets of their Mini Skis. These skis are smaller than the full size sled skis, but they are HUGE compared to the stock 120 skis. Absolutely worth every penny!

Tunnel Extension Progress on His

I am going to stick with the extensions I built, but may change them later. My aluminum welding skills are lacking a bit.

My progress was delayed due to kids Motocross and Jiu Jitsu events. Attending these events helped re-inspire me as to why I am building these sleds. Simply put, the OEM kids sleds SUCK! After watching 6,7 and 8 year old kids FLY through the air, crash, bump and fight to win at the motocross on crazy-fast bikes...and watch the same age group kids throw some sick take-downs, killer arm-bars and crafty rear-naked chokes at the Jiu Jitsu tournament, I again realized how crappy and almost insulting the OEM 120's are. Kids can do the most amazing things if you let them.

Here are some of the pics of progress and a couple of pics that caused delay to progress.

Need to see some video of those sleds moving:face-icon-small-win

I agree but the Snow Gods are holding out on us...47 degrees this morning in Coeur d'Alene.

These PICS are from this morning. I came across these Turkeys having a d**k measuring contest in the road this morning and the other pic is outside my office:face-icon-small-sad

Footboard Mods

1. Decrease footboard flex:

I used solid aluminum rod cut to 30". I sleeved 20" into the rolled edge of the footboard and bent the rod to meet the tunnel. I angle cut the end of the rod, drilled a mounting hole and used a single rivet to attach it to the tunnel. This ended up looking pretty cool and I avoided welding anything.

2. ADD Foot Traction:

Installed 1/4 drive hex head #8 by 1/2 inch self tappers to footboard edge...reminds me of the XLT days.

3. Snow Eliminators:

I may actually try to build these. I think 1/8" aluminum inserted into the footwell...we'll see.

Any chance you will witness the heel of a little boot getting pinched in your new rail extensions? It kind of looks like a squeeze chute for a boot.

Well you're dead on with that one. I sometimes wonder if the manufacturers realize how many people they're losing to 4-wheelers and motorcycles because they refuse to build something about the size of a snow scoot to fill that gap for the 8-12 year olds? Snowmobile sales keep going down every year, what's the problem? Well what are you doing to get kids started young in the sport? I agree with you that it is ridiculous that I'm going to have to spend more on my 10 year old's sled than I will on my own just because it will all be custom.

Pink Sled--Tunnel Extension and Footboard Mod

Pretty much duplicated the process from the Red Dragon. Much easier the second time around. I am going to cut the bumper off of both sleds and add a Polaris Pro bumper to the tail of each sled.

Here it is...now where is the snow?

You need to re-sticker that thing so it says 120RMK. THAT is SWEET!!!!!

Vinyl stickers are cheap to make.

And we gotta know what it takes to get one to that point.

Her Pink Flamer...Done

Worked till 3am to finish the Pink Flamer. It was much easier this time since I was just doing the work without having to design anything. Still waiting for snow.
