I have an '11 with 1800 miles now. Lost the EGT sensor, TPS sensor, and my fuel line and filter about 100 miles ago. Gonna rebuild the motor once the season ends, may be testing out a new 860 kit...

Wyo is going to do that for me, so I won't have to. Once he's got it figured out... then we'll talk.
In the meantime, I prefer to ride instead of wasting countless hours figuring out an install... so I bring my sleds to someone who knows WTF they're doing like cutler & tell them to build me a fast sled. (Bparks is going to do a RG BD kit in Abbys 12 for me this summer, and getting her a 13 pro)

I will say so far 63 out of 71 sleds have no issues. That is awesome news. Alhough most of the counted sleds are 1,000 miles or less. But good results so far.

Not really, what if TRS is a rental fleet owner or a dealer and saw 15 to 20 last year? Does he count as only 1 vote? Just saying I think the one vote thing may or may not even out in the end.

And as far as suspect haters only 2 guys I can see that have said they've blown up but have a zero post count ie have never made a post on snowest. Lol.

One lost crank bearing in Jan 2011 with 600 miles on it!
One lost a rod bearing Feb 2012 with 1500 miles on it!!
One broke cylinder skirt Mar 2012 with 2500 miles on it!
Also have a 2012 with 1000 miles on with know problems so far!!
Have a new 13 on order!!

I am just pointing out that at the current time the Pro has around 13% and the the Cat around 5%.

2011 Pro, 1987 miles, and no engine issues (knocking on Wood) as yet.

yeah..but..a couple of minutes of flipping thru old threads and I found 4 guys who lost a cat motor at the start of the season and they havent posted yet..which doubles the current numbers...yeah the cats are more reliable..but I doubt if everyone posted on both threads the diff is going to be more then 5%...and at some point..the price of belts would come into play....

The real test will come when your sleds at 3k. Miles and ur poo engines exploded while the cats still running strong
--Should not have to buy extra belts nor should you have to buy a piston kit or an extended warranty out of fear the $5k motor is going to grenade.
--There are simple simple fixes for both issues with the belt fix being less than half the cost of the engine fix.

2012 pro 155-758 miles no issues
2011 pro 163-1400 miles no issues
and my current 2011 pro 163 was burned down by a lean condition due to tuning issues with a turbo but now has 74 miles on a new motor issue free

You Cat lovers sure love to come over here and make your silly predictions. I couldn't care less how the Cat poll is going. You won't see me over there talking about all the well known Cat issues. I own a PRO and love it, and I could have bought the Cat. I would rather have some chance of an Polaris engine failure than ride a Cat. My Last Polaris 800 had 6200 hard miles on the original engine and my buddy is still riding it hard!
Ride what you bought and keep the silly predictions to yourself. The PRO is CLEARLY the dominate mountain 800 and I guess that's pretty hard to take if you ride a Cat!

In the trees i agree, in a line and in the air see ya!!
I just dont get this tree riding didn't get big till the M chassis in 05 with vertical steering. Now its the end all a mountain sled should be.
I love the pro rmk really do trying o get my wife a 600
When cat revolutionized the mountain segment by the M chassis vertical steering m7 that is still one of the most reliable sleds on the snow you polaris guys were still riding trailing arms!
Just saying....
Lol, not discrediting the new pro at all when i say this, polaris has listened to there boondocking tree riders big time! And it shows! Loving all the new tech!
The new kitty climbs like a billy goat and flys straiter then any mountain sled i have been on.
Thats my riding style and where we ride the trees dont grow.
All im gettin at is the mountain segment isnt all about tree riding there are several of us that need that stiffer rear tunnel, badass front suspension, and appriciate the engine reliability! Out the gate the cat is a better choice for ME. Key word there is ME.
So when i here the pro is the best mountain chassis i have to disagree because it may be for lots of people, just not me
The Engine issues are not that big of a deal especially if you have a 4 yr warranty, only time its an issue is if parts are on backorder and your missing weekends of riding, other then that any brand you brake anything.you got a good dealer if you make it out by the next weekend.
I wouldnt mind a new motor at 1500 miles lol. As long as she blew at an opetune time. Haha

2011 PRO 924 miles on it lost the PTO crank bearing and ruined the entire engine. Waited 7 weeks for a new engine and it has not ran right since the new engine was installed, pretty much spent this entire season at the dealer. Wifes 12 PRO only has 300 miles on it and no issues so far but with only 300 miles it doesn't really count.

bottom line the pro has the biggest failure rate and the numbers are getting worse,great sled though

I would much rather have my engine replaced under warranty and have the problem fixed than spend $1500 on belts, like some have mentioned on here, and still not fix the problem. When you think about it having a pro under warranty and having the engine go down might actually be a cheaper option than owning a new cat that has the most reliable 800 but eats belts for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I absolutely loved my 08 M8, i had a lot of fun on that sled, but Bottom line, they all have problems, I chose a Pro cause that's what I liked, plus I like knowing that when my motor goes down, at least that problem is fixable.
