It will firm up the rear keeping it from collapsing too much when climbing. Likely reduce the weight transfer and keep more pressure on the skis.

Depends on how you want the sled to handle I guess.

Moving the rear scissor mount backwards, the sled won't transfer as much weight, and will be slightly more "coupled" with the front.

It won't behave as well through the trees for you, but will help to lessen the wheelie effect when climbing.
