High country front end, what is the best upgrade?

So for this summer im hoping to drop a 153 powerclaw into my high country. Now im considering doing some front end work, but im sorta torn because theres more than a few options and my budget isnt gonna be that big. I ride all over the up i probably put about 60% of my miles on the trails this year(1150), but i do like riding just powder and taking a few trips out west.

Here where my options:
1:New skis, thinking either 8"gripper skis or 7" Cat mountain skis
2:Go to 38" ski stance up front from the 40" of the high country
3:Or finally upgrade to the ams 16 40" setup.

My shocks are going out for a rebuild, so regardless i dont factor that into the cost. What is gonna be the best upgrade overall for a high country?

2016 front end! Hands down the best thing I've done for my sled. You missed the sale on them though. Bought the whole kit for $499 shipped a few weeks back.

Yes that will be the ticket for you if you want to keep your width. I went for the 36 kit and couldn't be happier but I'm not a trail rider unless forced to do it.

I guess my thing is, im wondering how big of a difference just the front end will make from the 15 40" to the 16 40"

If you want to still have good on trail manners since you ride majority of the time on trail and don't want to go to 36", just go with a 38" stance with the same (older) style spindles. You can find guys selling them for cheap right now. The new '16/17 spindles aren't good for trail riding, but they are awesome off trail. If you really want the new '16/17 spindle, wait until fall and Cat will be selling a 38" kit with upper arms and spindles. Going from 40" to 38" will feel a lot better and be a big difference off trail but still feel fine on trails.

Is this kit not available until next fall? I was told they were just backordered.

ZBroz Racing sells a 38" kit with the new spindles and upper arms and that kit is backordered. Arctic Cat will be offering a 38" kit and with spindles and upper arms this fall for $479 , it is in their 2017 Accessories catalog.

Just remember you will still need to source some 38" lowers.
