On my last ride, the clutch on my 00 Powder Special 600 EFI started engaging at 5k. The engine runs perfect, and before it was engaging right around 4500.

What would cause the sudden change in engagement? The belt looks good with no signs of damage? Clean clutch? New belt? Check belt deflection?

Thanks

Check the bushings on your clutch weights....might be worn out.

I would second this suggestion. Typical arctic cat clutch. You probably need a pin and bushing kit. About 36 bucks.

Just roll the clutch around and look for one of the weights to be tipped to the side a bit.
