Where can I get my good fuel from?

Hey everybody,
I am living up in Cold Lake and I recently got my apex back with a 290hp MCX kit, with a head shim. I am running the kit at 15lbs right now and I wanna mix my fuel for safety sake. What I am wondering is where around Cold Lake or Edmonton for that matter can I get race fuel or Av?? (Maybe I should check at the air base...lol :D )

I know there are tons of posts on fuel, but not locations. None of my buddies are boosted, so they don't have to worry about this. Thanks.

Gotta be an aiport other than the airbase some where between you and Edmonton. VP must have a rep in Edmonton too. I doubt kerosine would work very well.

Wouldnt use av gas, my mcxpress apex ran like crap on it, grab a barrel of c-12 mix it 50/50 with premium should last you half a winter.

Isn't the 290 kit a pump fuel kit ? I just run Shell 91. The MCX kits are really safe if you run them at the boost they are supposed to be run at on pump fuel. I wouldn't worry too much.

Yes it is supposed to be a fuel kit, just a little concerned i guess. What about my boost level though Even at 15lbs, not yoo much? My builder said i would be good too, i also run shell 91.

? 15 at what elevation, are you getting that from a guage or just what the builder told you. ?

the 290 kit self adjusts to fit elevation and maintain power. I ride 5-9000 and see 14-16 as best as I can tell. I run premium (91-92)and try to find non ethanol blended. I only have 700 miles on it but no problems. In our group we have two others one has 1500 miles the other is the 260 kit and 6000 miles. all run pump no blending. I would just find a station that moves premium and preferably doesnt have ethanol and go nuts. julio

I'm currently at 1750ft elevation. I am seeing 15lbs on my boost guage. I ride anywhere from 1750 to 9000ft when I hit the mountains... I will adjust my clutch as required.

I thought the 19T turbo 290 kit ran higher boost on pump fuel. More efficient turbo than the 16T. I believe it was 15 psi at sea level on pump 91 = 290 HP. If that boost number is correct than i would not worry one bit about running just Shell 91. The MCX kits are built for this and are super safe.

My kit is 12psi on pump = 260HP. I have yet to blow my motor after 5000km of boost. Its all in your mind LOL ! If you really worried turn the boost down a little, what the hell do you need 290 HP on flats anyway, it does nothing for you LOL

LOL.... thanks for the reply Summit. I am probably overreacting, I just keep thinking, Yeah I just spent $20 g's and I don't wanna wreck it...lol. I figure I need 290hp on the flats to embarrass all the Arctic kitties that I ride with really really bad....:D
