For those following the lawsuit of the 5 forests in CA, Lassen has released their Draft EIS statement.

It's real simple. Winter Wildlands and Snowlands are pushing for Alternative 3 which is the most restrictive. Here's the map on their webpage
The areas in red are the further closures they're pushing for.

Alternative 1 is "no action/no change" in regards to sled access.

Like always, anyone familiar with these areas knows that 'conflict' between osv users and skiers is a joke. These areas just aren't used that much by either group. And if anything, there are far more sledders in the surrounding communities than backcountry skiers or full time snowshoers (if there even is such a thing). This is something dreamed up by people who live nowhere near these areas (this I know for a fact). There's a ton of non motorized access up there in the park (which is always plowed to the gates) and the caribou wilderness right next to it. As usual, any 'conflict' is is a fantasy.

Comment here and support ALTERNATIVE 1

Just do it, it takes 5-10 minutes. Deadline is March 3.

Alternative 1 "No Change" is never a true alternative. It's included in the documents because it has to be, not because the USFS will ever actually consider it.

Furthermore, this isn't a "vote" so simply writing "I support alternative X" won't do a thing. Instead, write a comment that is specific, and that the USFS will find to be "substantive."
