Dead spot in throttle

Ok any mechanics out there....I am having an issue with an 09 860 xp. After clutch engagement in my midrange there is a nasty dead spot. There is just no throttle response almost like its not getting any fuel. I really have not done any troubleshooting yet thought I would pick some brains first.
Any thoughts out there???

do you think it could be fuel? did the fuel sit all winter? did it run well lest year? Maybe the easy thing to do is drain fuel and clean crabs go for there if it ran well last year?
