With all the items on the 800 cats we put a new 162 on our loadcell track dyno a couple days ago thanks to Valley Marine. The results are very impressive, pulling 2 more grams with our MDS weights and 9.7 hp over stk clutching to the track! The new secondary which is bigger in diameter and chain case must be the reason for this. Can't wait to get our hands on a 1100t.

What elevation and how heavy of weights were used? Did you try different weights, ie 68g, 70g, 73g etc...

With all the items on the 800 cats we put a new 50th 162 on couple days ago thanks to Valley Marine. The results very impressive pulling 2 more grams and 9.7 hp to the track ! The new secondary and drive system is the reason for this. Can't wait to get our hands on a 1100t.

50th 162??? 50th 800 only comes in 153 as far as I know:face-icon-small-con

I'm confused, is this a 9.7 hp gain over a stock 2012 with your weights or is this a 9.7 hp gain over the 2011? more info please.

MN...stupid poser flatlander
If this is legit....

this will be quite a gain. Have to wait and see how the dyno gains transfer to real world mountain riding....but exciting none the less.

Thanks for the hard facts!

(lets see, now how can I turn this into a Poo Pro bashing thread?????)

Thats awesome almost 10hp gain with MDS weights over the stock 2012 proclimb clutch setup, hope the M1100t gets the same hit.

Numbers

I see the gain numbers... But how much power was a typical m8 putting to through track dyno in the first place. We know the crank hp numbers. But what was the track dyno actually saying for numbers? 100? 80? Thanks steve.

Not to rain on anybody's parade but the dude is talking about the same sled with new clutching compared to stock clutching. Track dynos are real good at getting clutching close but typically bias the power towards the engine's torque peak rather than at the HP peak. So, some adjustment may be needed on the hill. Also, mfrs aren't the greatest at calibrating away from "home base" at altitude. IP clutching didn't work in the Snowy's judging from my '10 M8. It's good gains have been made but a tad more info is needed; like altitude of the test, what weights came out, what went back in, peak rpms before and after the changes, ambient temp, airbox temp, and other stuff. If it all looks good, then the gain really could be legit and then, crap, you need another 300 bones to get what the factory should have given out of the box...

Sorry im confused now too. How did it do compared to last years sled? Is that the 2 more grams or is the 2 more grams due to your new weights?

--read the second to last sentence of the first post by MDS--

--The reason for the gain, in his opinion, is the larger diameter clutch and the chaincase instead of the D-Drive

--He is comparing 2011 M to 2012 ProClimb

I run MDS weights in all my sleds. I have noticed a difference with my seat of the pants dyno. These weights work on old and new M's. They are well worth the investment.
