In addition to scratchers I extended my flap a couple inches. I used light weight plastic(stair tread from hardware store $4) so it didn't weigh down the flap. Catches quite a bit more snow coming off the track, helped lower my temps signifgantly in marginal trail conditions.

is your radiator removed..if not..REMOVE IT..

scratchers, you may have a faulty thermostat...or air in your coolant system and need to bleed it out

if you are overheating within a block i dont think scratchers or the flap are going to help you, its gotta be low on coolant. jack the front end up about a foot, pull the bleeder screw from the head and add coolant untill it comes out the hole. i had the same problem on mine last year. it showed i had coolant in the tank, but when i bled it i added about 3 quarts more coolant.
