ice age 153 rail install in a 2015

I am installing 153 ice age rails in a 2015 skid. Two questions i have, are the holes in the rear of the rails cut correctly (see 2nd and 3rd pictures)? You can not back the track adjuster all the way off. Second should i transfer the steel insert from the stock rail for the front arm pivot (1st picture). Without the insert installed in the ice age rail there is alot of play in the hole. The hole in the ice age rails age .015 smaller than the cat rails. Tell me what u have done when installing ice age rails on your proclimb. Ice age part number on the rails are 58-026.

If you cannot back the track tension adjustment bolts all the way out, how did you get them installed?

Use an open end wrench, the bolt will go inside the rail, yes it will scratch the rail with every turn, it sucks compared to the large open hole in the cat rail but it still works.

Thanks summ8rmk for the response. I just wanted to make sure they did not send me rails for a 9 inch rear wheels instead of stock rear wheels. Did you reuse the stock steel bushings in the front arm pivot? As long as i know the rails are correct i think i will enlarge the holes in the rails to reuse the steel bushings.

I forgot about the steel bushings, those were a pain but they will fit.
I think i used a pair of vise grips like a mini press (place a washer on the other side of the rail so u don't damage the rail) to get the bushing in.
The BDX/cat anti-stab don't fit the ice-age rail cap.

I filed the hole slightly and used the press to push the bushings in, they fit really tight. I did not want to crack the ige age rails while pushing the bushings in. I think i can modify the ice age rail end caps and rails (make to hole larger) to make the stock anti stab shaft work. Did you buy ice ages anti stab?

No, i run without the anti-stab. Not because i want to, i forgot that it wasn't in there. Lol
I rode like that for 1 ride to finish the season.

I believe drilling the hole larger in the rail for the bolt and maybe the the plastic cap larger for the cross shaft?

Lets hope these ice age rails take more abuse than the stock rails did.

Anti-stab should work with a little modification, now let hope for more snow!

Those steel bushings are a pain in the butt. I thought it was more likely that I would destroy them or the rails getting them out, so I just ordered a set for the IceAge rails. I don't recall them being a pain to install.
I also made the BDX anti-stabs work on the IceAge rails. I think I had to enlarge some holes. It wasn't remotely difficult. The IceAge plastic rail tips are much beefier than the stock Arctic Cat ones.
IceAge has some pretty good products. I used the Bomber rails. No complaints.

Looks like you could cut .50 to .75" off the adjuster bolt to keep the head in the hole,I just made a stainless adj. bolt with a square head which uses a 7/16" socket in place of the stock 1/2" hex head, more clearance and never corrode or rust. Mike
