Hello Snow West. Anyone out there willing to help me out with a lil problem I got,
I would really appreciate it.

I just bought a Polaris Pro x 440 from this kid casue he couldnt figure why it wouldnt start.
Looked at the piston/cylinder.
Fuel lines are flowing.
Everything looks fine but the coolant jug was empty.
I put coolant in it, and it fired right up.
But died down a few minutes after that.
Looked at the coolant bottle and it was totally empty.
Poured more coolant in, and it stayed in the bottle.
When I started it up and again, it all runs out pretty fast.
Some of the coolant lines have frozen water in them too.
So for right now its in my garage thawing.
The coolant doesnt go anywhere when its off.
But when its idling,
You can watch the resy tank go down.

I just wanted to know if anyone has any idea where to start looking for a leak.
Common problems maybe?
Suggestion?
Anything would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers:beer;

Doesnt sound promising. Hopefully you did a compression test before you bought the sled from him, because if that motor was ran without coolant for along period of time it more than likely has engine damage of some sort.

First thing you need to do is this. Let it unthaw all the way. Get it running. Elevate the rear of the sled. Then start adding coolant, with the coolant flowing that way you will know that its actually full. This will also make sure that you have no air in your system.

Get a light and look over EVERYWHERE you can think to check for leaks.

Hopefully its just low and not totally out of coolant.

Hey I really appreciate that suggestion.
I did that,
And found a steady pour coming out of the water pump.
Gonna pull it off tomorrow,
And see if its just the seal or the housing itself.

This a problem anyones ever had?

Its probably the bearings on the impeller shaft. Had that happen before. Not too bad of a job, but I am pretty sure that is whats doing it.

Wow.
Bingo.
You got it right on the money.
The bushing right behind the impeller is chipped,
And kinda broken away.

Thanks.
Any suggestion how to remove it?
