Whats the tallest bar riser I can install without having to use cable/wire extensions? Is a 3" to tall. I need to put some leverage on this old cat... Thanks

i have a 3 inch on my 99 powder special, and its just fine. Dont think the 98 is any different.

Is it easier to throw the machine around. How do these machines respond to a little leverage. Thanks

Ive got a 99 PS and have 8.5 inch riser, and for being a small person, its easy to toss around. Only problem is you cant really sit while riding on the trail. You are in for a whole day of standing

when i first put the 3" on, i found it alot better. but now after getting on it, after my m1000 with no riser. it's too short! In my opinion it needs more than 3, but the 3 will be better! oh and i'm 5'11". i'd say go with the 3" if you just want a little more than stock, it will be easier to lay over.

Go with the three and add the M series handle bars works great.

Good suggestion, but then you will also need cable extensions for throttle and brake. the 3" riser is the max with stock, i think the M bars add almost another 3" or maybe four with the older M7 bars

By narrowing the bars I was able to get 5-1/2", really liked it.
