the 2017's had the narrower running boards but the old plastic, the 2018's have the narrower boards and new plastic.

its the chain case location that is the only difference from a SP to a mountain cat?

Kind of hard to understand what you're looking for. The 18 snopros have the lightweight jackshaft and drive shaft and of course the ctec, those besides the plastics are the differences between the 17 MC and the 18 Snopro. The 17 MC also has the Evol shocks.

I don't think the sno pro is gonna get the LW shafts. The demos don't have them. I think they'll leave that for the mountain cat.

The 18 sno pro has the same extended chaincase as the 17 mountain cat. The oil tank is smaller on the 18 for the more narrow panels.

the 17MC has more in common with the 18 sno pro than it will with the 18MC.
That is why all weight and performance comparisons so far should be against the 17MC, not the 17 snopro.
That is their marketing strategy tho, the wow factor... sorry i got a lil off youre topic Lol..
17 SP is the wider boards, 7 tooth driver, 2.6 track, few pounds heavier model.

I think the 2.6 sleds have 8 tooth drivers, 3.0 sleds have 7 tooth

When they posted the 13lb weight loss from the 17 to the 18 can't remember if they specified that was for the snopro or the MC or both. I thought they meant the weight loss was for all the 18 sleds. Guess we'll know everything next week.

Tank 5lbs

Drive shaft 3lbs

Jackshaft 2.25lbs

Caliper, disc and pads 1.3lbs

Bodywork 1lb

Composite steering support .5lb

As stated above the comparison is to 17 sno pros, there's even a video with mr beavis project manager, saying the approx 15lbs weight loss but only approximately 8 in comparison to the MC

i think half of that stuff is what is going to be on the mountain cat this year, not the SP.
Lets not forget the couple pounds lighter RTR weight with that smaller oil tank tho. I believe country cat weighed the 18 SP 11 pounds lighter than 17 SP, RTR?
Well, the 17MC is like 10 pounds lighter than the 17SP...
maybe its 7, 8 or 9 but then were kinda splitting hairs, its def lighter
