What is the difference between these two motors. Both are from Polaris 800 V ES. Why does one have three holes in the other does not. The one that does not is from a 2004.

Thank you for your service. Yes those are the three holes I am talking about. I believe the motor is 2002 or 2003?
They weren't there stock. Someone has added them.
