Hey everyone, brand new here. I've got a 01 rmk 800 edge that i put a 97 rmk 700 motor into. I want to use the mag off the 800 so i can just plug in all the connectors but I'm worried about the timing advance. Just wondering if anyone has done this before or has any insight on it. Thanks in advance!

Well you can do that, but if you are thinking about using the CDI from the 800 you will have a very different timing curve than the 700 used. I don't know how it will run with that.

Are you trying to use the 800 carbs too? The 97 700 didn't have a TPS so for the 800 CDI to function right you'll have to either use the 800 carbs or get a TPS block from one of the aftermarket companies. You could probably use the 01 700RMK jetting... if memory serves it had rack carbs with a TPS.

But none of that defeats the timing curve differences.
