If you let off the throttle and it sticks, for whatever reason, both those switches will be closed at the same time and it will kill the engine.

Correct. Also if the throttle is stuck open once the sled is off it will not restart.

worn out?

I have found that mine seem to act up when the sled has a lot of miles on it. I dis-abled it on my last sled when it did this, I will probably do it to my current sled this summer. It is nice to not have that safety BS causing problems, nothing like trying to maneuver around something and having the sled stumble instead of going......:yell:....and getting stuck or whatever....
