Anybody know what RPMs a set of triple PSI mod blaster pipes should run on a 96 ultra?

I ran a set on my Ultra and set it up at 8400 to 8600. Ran great never any problems I rebuilt it at 5200 miles never had to replace any thin on the crank.
It took 800s to out run it too DO NOT RUN IT ABOVE 8700.

Supposedly the Mod blasters were supposed to run 9600-9800 RPM's. Dont expect much longevity out that motor running those rpm's

The mod blaster pipe for the 680 ultra had 2 points that it would peak out. one at about 8600 and they found on a dyno that is would also peak a bit higher at 9600 or so but it was just a few HP above the 8600 with a dip in between.
the problem was that the motor at 8800 to 9100 had a very bad imbalance, hence the dip in hp, that would take the crank out. so it was not worth it to spin it that high not enugh gain.
used to have a 96 xcr sp 600 with psi modblaster pipes. Cant remember the RPM thing but, holy cow, the noise was wicked.
Sadly I have to say the same... Rode 1st of may weekend without helmet and my ears are still singing a tiny bit. Hope it goes away...:face-icon-small-sad
Love the triple sound but will HAVE TO do something with the noise level.

If you can keep it off the 8800 to 9000 rpm you can run it high but do not spin any tripple at 8800 to 9000 for any sustained time it will have very bad harminics. So keep it at 8600 or less or 9200 or more. If youwant it to live.

875 mod motor runs 9200 all day long with psi's and yes absolutely noisy but nothing sounds better than a right hand highmark echoing across the valley
