Reverse beeping warning

Simple question can I just disconnect one of the connectors so I don’t here the beep when I reverse it.. obviously it’s a safety thing but before I disconnect I want to make sure I don’t have any issues (electrically ) sorry for a dumb question but just making sure ?

On my 2014 the top of the beeper could be rotated, that opened/closed the holes in it so you could just make it quieter.
