154 x 3.5p = 40 lbs. 165 x 3.5p = 43 lbs.

Going to pick my 165" 3.5"P tomorrow. I'll post a pic on the scale.

Here is the stock 3" 163 at 54 lbs. (Not accounting for a bit of water from washing the chain case oil off or the packing tape)

Add shipping and tax. I'm in b.c. best price on the track i found was 1350 plus tax. Drivers are 500 buy the time I get them, iv ordered avid drivers before so I know the price.

Have you tried these guys who make drivers in BC? They don't show it but I bet they are working on a 3.5" pitch. I had a booth next to them at a sled show and was very impressed with their work.

Here is the Conquer 165" 3.5"P on the scale. 42 lbs.

So, 12 lb lighter than the Polaris 3"

Care to give your cost for the swap?

You better give a review once you ride it also. :)

Swap cost $1275.00, but I had a take off Switchback Assault track that I traded in for $400.00 so that eased the pain a bit and still have my 3" to go back to if the Conquer is no good.

If your considering it check with Tracks USA- they do take used and take off tracks in as an exchange.

Not sure how fair of a review I'll be able to give. I made a lot of other changes to the sled from last year, so it is a whole different animal this year. Wish I lived where I ride so I had the time to make 1 change at a time to see the individual results.

What kind of snow/temps are you in a majority of the time?

.

It varies greatly for me. If we get a good dump in Northern MN, we'll boondock up there and it could be -30. Then we'll ride the UP and it could be 35 degrees and heavy wet snow.

Last year I went to 4 different ranges on 4 different trips and rode conditions ranging from 3' of fresh champagne powder in Southern Colorado with temps in the single digits, to 45 degree spring conditions in the Big Horns in April.

We always hope to get out there at prime conditions, but unfortunately with life getting in the way, we have to take what we can get most of the time.

More curiosity related to pitch choice for me to wrap my head around.

My current state of mind is that the 3.5" will be better in mixed conditions... and the 3" version will be better in blower powder.

That is preciously why many in my group are waiting- and taking advantage ( in the meantime) of using that $1,200.00 on a track and driver swap- towards the Silber set-up and see what the results bring to warrant the 2.8

Who makes 3.5" pitch drivers? Can't seem to find them on Wahl Bros or Avid's websites.
