Do you guys have any belt problems with 17 mc? My kitty have blow two belts in 1000km.
I ride only treeride and sidehill, steep and deep.
Have jaws pipe kit and 160-255 with oem weights and 180-240 with 65-45-.36 helix. Riding altitude is 500-3000feet.
I think sled rock very well, but the belt blowing is not good. .:face-icon-small-dis

May have to gear up - pretty low gearing for your elevation. I believe the MC is geared / clutched for 8000'

The problem is your helix. When I bought my 16, it came with a helix 66 / 49-0.20 and the belt did not have enough grip. Come back with your helix 48 or shallower.

Don't gear up, you have a right gearing for your riding style.

I ride at the same altitude as you. Same riding style.

In stock it is 66-49 .20 and belt is so hot and one blow 500km. Then i changed it 65-45 .36, it way better and sled pull 8400 all day long. I have straight 48 too but don't tested it yet.

What you guys think what is optimal peak rpm with jaws big shark. Jaws himself say 8300-8500. Is it worth?

Sorry bad English

The first angle are too steep, you need a straight or not to big gap between an angles. Try your 48, maybe a 45 straight will be your target.

I dont had jaws shark pipe but i reading 8300-8400. Sorry for my English, i too.

First check alignment, deflection and are you using OEM belts 083 or 084?
I have 800km on my 16 ltd and the belt is as new so you have a problem these sleds are not belts burners.
I have mine geared up too where yours is stock with the larger drivers.
I run the vented side panels for improved cooling but the clutches were cool before the panels were installed.
I have not had any success with multi angle helix where I ride 5-9 k ft. I have used them at your elevation but it was for speed and acceleration not mountain riding.

2000 miles so far this season on my mountain cat, I changed the belt out of precautionary measures around 1600 miles but no issues!
