Use of 2012 SLP can on 2016 E-TEC T3, 174"

I saved the SLP can off my 2012 E-TEC, 163" and was planning on installing it on my new 2016 after break-in (half way there). The guys at the Doo shop initially thought it was an OK match. Folks at SLP say they have a "NEW" can for the 2016 sleds and my EUC sensor on the new sled will not function properly with the 2012 can. Is there any "fix", dialing in of the ECU system, etc. to get the old and new to "accept" each other?:face-icon-small-dis

Yeah, I have the 2016 can on as I'm breaking-in. So I have the 2012 and the 2016 can for comparison. Guess what I need to do is go see if the shop has yet sold my 2012 sled and screw out the sensor probe and take my calipers, measure it exactly and then measure the 2016 sensor. Then attempt to replicated extension into can of 2016 probe, assuming the 2012 is shorter. If it's longer, the goose is cooked.
