Air intake sensor - HELP

I have an '05 900 with an SLP High Flow Airbox. The check engine light came on the last time I rode and it flashes 3 times. I have the list for blink codes and see that it is the air intake sensor. I took it aprt last night and just looked at it and it seemed fine.

How would this sensor go bad? Does anyone know how to check to see if it is bad? Should it have continuity?

I wanted to check with you guys before I have to buy a new one from the dealer.

Thanks.
