Time for a new truck. I have been wanting a new heavier truck so that I could put a deck on it in the winter time, instead of putting the sled in the back of the bed. This way I can take two sleds. Not able to tow trailers in where we ride, so a deck or sled in the bed is only option.

Will a F250 Powerstroke take a deck with two sleds up top and be good to go? Is it enough truck for that application? Or should I go with a F350? Truck will be used as daily driver in the off season so was hoping the F250 would work, as it most likely will provide a better ride?

If you go with an F250 and plan to have a sled deck, you WILL want air bags. AND, the F250s sag more with the short box. Long bed is a little better.

I had a 2000 F250 shorty for 13 years. When I bought a new truck (used 2012), I went with F350 long box.
I haul a 5th wheel, so I went ahead and put airbags in it also.

15 f250 6.7L crew cab long bed. Has camper package and snowplow prep.
I Run a steel deck, gear underneath and 2 sleds, no airbags on the new truck, it rides like a dream with that tiny load. I might do bags next year, but it's not needed.
It's more truck and power than is needed for any deck and load, so much so that it has no problem towing a trailer in addition to the loaded deck!
The 17 will have even higher payload I hear, you'll be fine and you can always add airbags later if you feel like it.

PS, on my 01, same truck config., I had airbags and they were needed.

F250 will be more than enough truck.
Hell, The new f150 can haul all of that and more.

F250-F350 are very similar. Get airbags or overload and they become nearly the same truck except for the badge on the side and sticker inside the door.

That use to be true. 99-2007 F250-F350, different springs and or blocks for the ride height, other than that they are near identical, as u stated, badges and stickers.

The newer the truck the further apart the 2 have become. 2011 and newer there are a lot of differences. I can only imagine that 2017 will maintain or increase the difference.

Good point, I am definitely not up to speed after 2011.
