I just removed the t-stat and made a gasket from some gasket paper. I cut a 1 1/2" piece of 3/4" billet aluminum and hose clamped it between the reservoir bottle and the head. I didn't put a hole through the piece of billet stock, but if you remove your t-stat I recommend that you drill a small hole 3/16" through it. This will help you bleed your system as this is the highest point on your cooling system.
