I am wondering how long of a track a 488 or 500 cc ( fan or liquid ) can spin, could it handle a 151" track or longer with some clutch work and gearing, also, if the track was ported would it make it easier to spin. I saw someone online who put a 151" on a old yamaha phazer (488 cc fan), do you think it would be really under powered ( obviously i wouldn't be climbing and big hills ) but any knowledge would help.
Thanks in advance.

I used to have a photo of a 500 RMK (liquid) that a guy had installed a 159 x 2 under. He said it worked awesome for the kid.

If you can gear low enough, the engine will tractor a 151" around just fine.

I had a 2000 polaris 550 fan, put a 151 on it and ran it that way for the first year, then went to the 159 track. It was geared down, 19 and 41 tooth in chaincase and a 8 tooth drivers. Put it on a diet and had it down from 478 stock, to 412 lbs. I sold it after riding it 7 seasons, had over 11000 miles on it. Of course it wouldnt go straight up like the 700 and 800's, but was a lot of fun zig zagging all over the place.
