It can be done on the 08 if you get the update done and they reflash the ECU. The 07 won't do it. If you put an 08 + Ecu with the 09 + program in it. it can be done. The reflash for the 07-08 1000's is the 2010 program but the 07 ecu won't run the electronic reverse portion of the program. Be careful if you do it, the oil pump on the pre 2009 1000 will not operate in reverse. So, If you have an 08 you will need the reflash, an oil pump and possibly a diamond drive and new helix. If it's an 07 you will also need a new ECU. The wiring is as simple as running a wire from the correct pin on the ECU to the switch on the bars. There is a thread on here about it that was made last winter that would probably be helpful as well.
