a buddy of mine was doin his morning chores, feeding the horses and dogs and such. and he forgot something before work so he ran out to his bunkhouse and let it sit there and warm up then he came back out, went 4 feet and every thing died on it. no lights no dash nothing.

i told him to look for a loose ground but he idk if he did or not im going to go check it out tomorrow.

Not wishing this on you or trying to be the tearer of bad news, but I know some of the earlier 500's would seize up if left to idle to long. Not enough oil pressure at idle. Here's hoping that's not the case with yours.

i got a 2000 500 with 9k miles and an 06 with 2k and neither has had an issue, if no display or power start from the battery up or the ign. switch
