I just had my m1000 seize up on me due to a failure of the oil injection! The sled has 1100 miles on it and I'm looking at performance upgrades. Who has the best kit out there for a big bore kit? Bikeman performance, Slp, Rk Tek , d&d, cutler performance?!!! Just need some good direction on which company to go with!

For long life and close to the same performance you can do a port job, head and exhaust system and be very happy. If you are going with the above listed options for a 1200 D&D is the place to be.

X2, I currently run a 2007 M1000 with Oil injection eliminated, Speedwerx Single pipe,Y-pipe, and can. V force Reeds and spacers(speedwerx), BDX Intake system, and a Attitude Box. This combo works and has around ?200? Horsepower ( not Dyno'd though ). Has all the power most people would need.
With good clutching set up you should love the sled.

I have a 1200 D & D kit, brand new replate on the cylinders, but I agree with all of the above. The reason the kit is for sale is it made no more power than the stock cylinders with reeds, head and exhaust. Needless to say I'll never sell the @#$@# thing if I keep telling potential buyers the truth.

I ride from 3500 to 8000 feet and have a 3 tower primary with Speedwerx 95 gram Heavy hitter Primary weights with the factory Titanium spring. Secondary is a 42/38 Helix with CPC Red/white spring middle hole and 2nd generation torsional kit. If your running a 4 tower primary I'd have to look @ my notes on the old set up.:face-icon-small-win

I totaly disagree with you. I have rode with guys with Head, porting, pipe and what not and they wont go where I go with my 1200

Get the 1200 but get it ported beyond what D&D gives you. I have mine built from Arctic Edge Motorsports in Alberta and the thing rips.
220hp and there is no looking back. 1000 wont come close.

My vote is 1200 100%

I'll have to disagree with you. A properly setup m1000 with rktek porting and head will be very close to 1200 big bore. it won't beat it but will be close and half the price

Have to a gree with Mountain_Tamer never seen or rode with any 1000's that will come close to a Proper Ported/Piped 1200. Ride with ported, piped well set up 1000's every weekend for last 4 years. Never had one outrun or outclimb my jaws twin piped 1200. However my first 1200 was not ported and piped properly and the ported/piped 1000's were just as strong. The only way my first 1200 was stronger was in a longer pull. When you get a 1200 and have it ported properly with pipes that work it will handle the ported 1000. I am sure one day I may see it but around my area that I ride it has has not happened yet.
