We are off to a pretty good start for early November. We have had many small storms the last few weeks. We picked up 1-2 inches here at the cabins last night. I have been hunting many days up the Greys River(Wyoming Range), Salt River and in the Snake River Ranges. The more westerly ranges, Snake River (Indian Creek) and Salt River (Bedford, Willow and Strawberry) seem to be getting more snow from these last storms. The Willow Creek (Bedford) snotel is currently at 20". Blindbull (Wyoming Range) is at 14" and Spring Creek (Afton) is at 17". The most snow on the snotels is Targhee Ski Resort resort around 30". Togwotee is showing 22".
I will continue to try to stay up to date throughout the winter with snow reports as I have in years past. Rockin' M Ranch will be open this winter for cabin rentals and Polaris and Ski Doo Snowmobile Rentals. We also offer a guide services for both the Wyoming and Idaho snowmobile areas in the Alpine area. Please call us at 307-654-2288, email rockinmranch@silverstar.com or see our website at rockinmranchwyoming.com
Thanks, Rob

We picked up about 5" here at the cabins in the last few days. Local snotel sites range from 6-10" of new snow.

Alpine, Wyoming Snow Conditions
This storm of the last 48 hours came in warmer than predicted. Most of the Valley snow was rained away. Snowline appeared to be about 7000 for most of the storm. The high elevation snowpack continues to build. Blind Bull went from 21" to 28" and Willow from 25" to 27". Targhee ski resort went from 45" to 52".

We are in a winter storm warning for the new few days. It has been a very wet rain snow mix throughout the day in Alpine, without any real snow accumulation, but a lot of moisture. The mountains have been socked in all day and the snotel sites are building. The flakes just started forming this last hour before dark, and things are turning white. I will update later in the storm.

Thanks for the updates!

Anyone have a link to a good map showing the trails for the Greys River Rd riding? I looked on the Teton-Bridger National Forest site and their MVUM's were pretty poor... Looking to get over there a few times this year.

Rain snow mix in the valley. Looks like snotel sites picked up about 1 foot new since the storm started yesterday.

December 2, 2013 Evening

Drive through Alpine, Wyoming right now and you will wonder where this winter storm went. There is a very definite snowline 1/3 to 1/2 of the way up the mountains. Wow!!, we got pounded up high these last forty eight hours. Keep in mind this new wet snow is sitting atop a layer of dry fluff which had to settle a bunch under this new snow.
First number 48 hours ago and now:
Blind Bull :22" now 45"
Willow: 21" now 37"
Spring Creek (Afton) 18" now 36"
Togwotee: 28" now 39"
Targhee Ski Resort 41" now 55"
Supposed to cool down and keep snowing throughout the week. Pretty warm out there right now.

I'm also curious if anyone has been in on Greys River Rd yet?
I gotta believe it is fine. I unloaded at mile 14 ten days ago and rode up to Blind Bull. It was thin, but the road underneath is frozen and icy. The Box Y is showing 22" on their measuring site. I doubt you would have to drive very far past the parking lot, if at all, to unload.

Thanks for the help! I think I may try it on Friday if i don't go somewhere else.

Can you ride from your cabins to the higher elevations yet? I am new here and we are coming out in January so I don't know all the areas you are talking about, so I am curious. :clock:

Not yet, but it doesn't take more than about 6-12" to make that possible. Should be soon.

Rockin M Ranch, you guys are on our short list of destinations for early Feb trip. We will have a group of 8. Half of us will be renting. My main question is; can we ride right out from the cabin and roughly how many miles down the trail will we have to go to get to some good meadows, tree riding, and not too extreme hills? Also, is there gasoline on the way to the above mentioned areas? Thank you!
If anyone other than R-m-R has input and would like to reply, please do!
