I have a Shockwave on my 270hp McXPRESS Nytro and wonder what RPM I should set it for? What is the limiter set at? What way do you rotate it to lower RPM? I don't have my sled handy and I can't remember if it's marked on the helix.

8800 rpm, bad practice to adjust rpms via the secondary, turbo Nytros like 47 straight cut helix, ditch the shockwave and get a 47 then tune with the primary, then never touch it again after that. JMO

If you run the 47 degree straight helix what is the rest of the clutch set up? What is bad about the Shockwave helix, seem to be pretty common on Nytros.

They bind, everyone I know who has had one got rid of it.

Primary
BWB spring
14.5 rollers
8BU 00 loaded right to the max with MPI brass rivets

secondary

47 straight cut
Artic Cat green spring or purple EPI or Black Alpine all the same spring
Set a 0 and 1

I'd go 16.5 mm rollers, Dalton DTYA1's and bwb primary spring. Secondary I run 3&2, purple EPI, and stock or Dalton straight cut 47.

yes 8800 seems best, they do make a bit more hp at 9000-9100 but for longevity of the motor + more tork at 8800

The ramps on the shockwave helix are quite a bit narrower than a Yamaha helix and quickly wear groves in the plastic buttons. I removed my shockwave too.
