I saw 215 deg F on the trail when I lost my aftermarket snow flap. I was riding slow about 30mph with light throttle and engine started to miss. I did not see a light come one because the indicator lights on the multi-functional display are recessed and easily are filled in/obscured with snow.
I'm getting a Terra Alps thermostat kit and better ice scratchers. I'm sick and tired of having to watch the temp gauge so much and I'm tired of it running hot on the trail. If that doesn't fix it, then I'm off to the local TIG welder to install some additional cooling. If that doesn't work, then I'll trade it in for a Doo Freeride. My wife's 2008 700 IQ runs 120-125 deg F all day long on and off trail without ice scratchers.
