Default What is your desired belt for an M1000?

I setup this poll in hopes of getting a good idea of what belt you use and recommend for an m1000.

i get better sled performance with the 46 belt....average 700 miles per belt, but i don't wait until they explode, just to where it looks like a cord will pop out pretty soon...

I prefer the 060 belt. It will pull down your RPM's about 200 less than the 046, but you'll get longer belt life with the 060, least that's the case with mine. I'm running porting, pipe etc and I think with the added hp the 046 belt is too thin. Just my .02

They are the same size right?

I like either belt most of the time, but when the snow is wet and the riding is good, it gets too stickey and wont backshift. I'm sure I could make it work with some more time spent on clutching, but its not worth it. The 046 lasts just as long for me, and its much cheaper.

I like the 060 because it grabs better for me. I tried the cheaper 046 and had to reclutch to run it due to the higher RPM, if its reving higher it must be slipping, and therefore more clutch heat which is never a good thing.

046 better RPM and cheaper. My M1200 had 1300 hard miles before it let go. Besides that when the 060 belt comes apart it grenades. Buddy of mine had holes in his belly pan from belt blowing right through it

for me the 046 is the only way to go

Headin back to AK

The 060 is the best belt for the M1000. It does not slip.
If your looking for RPM, drop some primary weight.

I think you'll have a lot of people in this that have not honestly tried all three. I find it extremely hard after seeing what I have seen with a number of people that anyone would go BACK from the 817 to one of the cat belts.

If you want more or less RPM's change weights. Don't go for one belt or the other because of the rpm's.

Btw, for me the 046 blows even quicker than the 060. (and still no warranty...)
