2009 M8 cold start/blooded problems?

2009 M8, the last 2 seasons it has become very cold blooded. When starting it in the morning it will idle very low(rpm) and run like its on one cyclinder. It might die 4-6 times and take 10-15 mins or so to get warm and start idleing right. It will smoke like no other too. It never used to be like this. Used to start 1st or 2nd pull and idle great.

I have replaced the reeds, but it didnt help.

Sled has aroun 2400 miles on it. New top end around 1700 miles.

Any ideas?

Make sure the oil pump is returning all the way. Some stick the linkage will return but the pump will not.

Maybe check the coolant temp sender too

I have small o-rings(o-ring/zip tie fix) on the oil pump linkage so it wont stick.

Something to look at.
Motor pulls over hard, and runs great once warmed up.

pull, and send injectors to a REPUTABLE injector cleaning/testing facility. http://www.proflowtech.com/

might be a plugged injector. especially if you use pump fuel, and store it for long periods (stabil or not.) non eth rec fuel, is the ONLY WAY TO GO! Ski

Might check clutch could be engaging cold then is fine after warmed up my m7 has started to do this mine needs rebuilt.
