If you glue them from under the hood and with 3m weatherstrip glue they may last longer, might be alright the way you have them though!

Sick.. bought a roll of screen lastnight from depot..
Took a spare clutch cover and drilled some holes out. Used a hot glue gun for the mesh.
So simple! I want to make a mesh hood now! took me less than 20 minutes from start to finish. Looks pretty bad a too!
