I have a friend who has a king cat and he put avid 7 tooth drivers on it and it came with 8 tooth drivers my question is going from 8 tooth to 7 tooth how many teeth on the chaincase do you have to change to put it back to stock gearing?

Why change drivers? Smaller drivers make the angle of attack worse and the track has to spin around a smaller diameter wheel at the front so it is less efficient.
Gearing down is never a bad thing for a mtn sled. I would leave the gearing stock. You geared it down by putting the 7 tooth drivers on so let it buck.
