7 tooth 3" pitch drivers should clear a 2.5" track on an 02/03 with the slight factory d&r.

I have a maverick 162 x 16 x 2.25 using 7tooth drivers with plenty of room

I squeezed a 2.3" track using 9 tooth extros (2.52). The lugs just touch the top of the tunnel.
I haven't run it yet, so I don't know if this will be a problem.

I ran a 162x16x2.5 with 7T, 3P drivers. no issues. ran stock gearing but that was with an 889 triple. with an 800 i would run somewhere around 19/45-47. not sure what fits.

Maybe...I found others on SW that were running 9T with 2.25 and weren't having any major problems. That said, I am seriously considering getting some 8T Extros. Know anyone selling any?
what kind of track are you running now????

i got an 01' with a 150x16x2.5 and it is a tight fit but it fits. the 02'-03' had a 3/8 d&r i think. it'll fit with 7-tooth drivers.
I run an 02 HMX w/ 156x16x2.5, 7t Avid extros,19/45 gears w/ stock chain(pull chain tensioner to install chain, then replace tensioner) 5.50" wildchild drop brackets 5.25" down, have to drop the front arm mount down to within 1" of bottom of tunnel to get transfer back, remove inside tunnel braces and put external grip/tunnel stiffners on from MXZX or probably any model will do. If running 16 wide, have to grind down a couple of bolt heads in front on each side(minor). Have 1/4" tunnel clearance, little hard on track speed, but traction and flotation are great with this setup.
If you don't drop the skid out of the tunnel a little, you will have issues with track dragging in tunnel, I have pic's posted in other threads in this section elsewhere.

i run a 2.5 174 on my sled with avid 7 tooth drivers and it works great
