At 2500 miles and nothing wrong with it just run it. The owners manual says not even to change the plugs till 5000 miles. If your not having any problems just go with it no need to waste your money IMO

What are your cylinder pressure readings (aka compression numbers).
It is best to use a gauge with the connecting hose/fitting, and be sure to cycle each cylinder through several strokes for each reading.

A dealer I trust says if you're riding it hard by 4000-4500km the piston skirts will be starting to collapse. Be honest with yourself about how hard you ride it though. More importantly IMO check the crank runout. Compression numbers on the etec don't mean much.

My stock pistons were at the wear spec for skirt collapse at ~3500 miles. I put aftermarket dual ring cast replacement pistons in. ~1800 miles and they were a touch more collapsed than the OEM set. I probably advanced as a rider and put the aftermarket parts through more abuse, so not exactly a fair comparison. Neither sets ever failed, just reached service limits.

Running Wossner this season. With a fresh & trued crank, original had 0.0045" pto runout and bluing on the big end of the mag rod.

I was told by dealer ski-doo spec was .003-.006" mine is currently .005"

Sounds like a misunderstanding or bad info from dealer. Right out of the service manual, deflection limit is 0.0024" on the PTO stub, 0.002" MAG. I would be thinking about fixing it.

I know what the specs say, but EVERY crank I have ever checked was at .004 to .005 out. I have never seen astock crank in specs.

I just run them an i haven't had a crank failure.

Just my observation.
