I’ve serviced 2 rear track shocks this week. The valves on the low speed compression were completely burned out.
The high flow piston is raising havoc with the .006” valve.
One shock had 3 valves burned out.
Thought I would pass this on. These shocks need more service than previous shocks.
Working on a valving for the ‘18 mono.

Do you know how many miles were on these shocks? I will be taking mine apart this summer, I have about 1,000 mi on mine.
Do you think a thicker valve would solve the problem, or rework the whole stack?

I had Andy at Gas Shock Repair service my IFS WE clicker shocks earlier this season. He told me it's a good idea to have coil over shocks serviced every second or third season as a little bit of water gets past the shaft seal regardless of the shock brand. My Raptors from the skid will go in this summer for a service.

Right at 1000 miles.
Eric,
I discarded them. I wish I had taken a pic of them for reference to what I call burn out. Basically they wear out. The .006” were scored/creased where they meet the next shim/valve. I’ll take a pic of the next one.
Back to the mountain.

Here is one with only 2 rides on it. You can see where the high flow ports Match up with the shim. The stock valving is not holding up.
I replaced the .006” thickness with an .008”. Will check it again after a couple rides.
May have to try the old style piston.

Do you think the assault clicker rts would have this issue?
