shovel should be in your backpack. Have had buddies that had sled buried and couldn't get to their shovel to help dig for people. How do yo think that makes ya feel!

You should look at the handlebar bag. It was put on last years LE and has proven to be very useful and easily accessible. It is not huge but very user friendly

The handlebar bag and tunnel bag from Snobunjie are the way to go. Great fit and functionality. I will miss the seat storage too though.
