I have been interested in going back to Polaris. I am looking at buying a 06-08 Polaris IQR. I am just looking for something standard at this time with hopefully no motor. I was interested in installing a 800cc to replace the 440. I am also looking at installing a tunnel extension with 2" paddles. Here are some questions before I get started.
Will the 800 fit ok without any huge mods for room?
What good looking tunnel extension are out there? 121 to 144or151"?
Will there be any clearance issue with the 2" paddle tracks?

The last seld I custom built was back in 2003. It was a skidoo rev with the beaver tail. That sled needed all new 04+ footwells & chaincase for clearance and was hard as hell to find a tunnel extension.
Any information, or posted websites would be greatly appeciated!
Thanks
Kevin

Yes, people have even put watercraft tripples in these sled if you are real ambitious!

2" will fit but the stock track width on these is only 14.75,
I wouldn't go over a 15" wide track.

I was spoiled and bought mine already setup. If you have the money to spend i would go with an easy ryde skid. I have a 155 skid with iceage rails and exit shoks and it works great but the aproach angle is much better on the easy ryde skid. You will need shorter spindles up front also, pm 1200 psi on here he has answers for any and all questions concerning transforming these racers to longtrackers. he makes his own motor plates and just about everything else you might need he can build or point you in the right direction to get it.

Thanks for all of the information you listed. I have not been building anything for the past couple of years, but before that I was buliding Skidoo. I did however have a 05 RMK 900 151" that I played with. That thing pulled like a rocket when I got done with it, but the bad rap those sleds had, I lost tons on it.
Can you tell me what the difference is between 05, 06-08 IQrs? I think I found a site that listed replacement plastic parts for the 06-08 and seeing that, makes me believe that 06-08 are the same.
I am interested in either buying a standard roller or finding a bulkhead and working up. I'd rather buy a roller, because I'd have most of the parts, minus tearing it down and installing a VE tunnel.
I was thinking about going with the roller also because I think it might be hard to find a good bulkhead and then all the little parts that would cost $$$ from Polaris.

06-07 were 440s and the 08 is the new 600r motor along with different front suspension, few upgrades in bracing and steering effort.
