Good post boys! This will be a popular post.
I'm going with the RKT secondary and Dalton adjustables in the primary. Not riding until the 22 of Dec. Then Dec 26-30 So I will be reading this post closely.
Also putting on some other goodies, but the first two days will be stock for break in. Then the next week will be the fun times. :beer;

My GF picked up a 08 M8 and we are going to try the cutler torsion setup. The main reason being that I have had good luck with the torsion setup on alot of M7's(some with 900 kits) and I also have alot of king cat helixs and springs laying around so I don't have to buy alot of clutch parts.

The engine is stock with the stock pipe and will only have a slp can and the slp air intake kit.

Very interested in how the different setups work.

Me too!

Thats why I am going to try both ways

Seems to be lot of love it or hate it on the torsion setup

I had the compression setup working and backshifting well on the M7 so I figure you can make either setup work well.

I think either setup(torsion or compression) can be made to work equally well.It comes down to what you know better.

I am used to the old cat clutch so thats what I am going with.

It will be interesting to see where clutching needs to go with the Powerclaw vs. setups that were working last year. Keep us posted.

I have a 07 M8 that i run 70 gr weights in at 9K and above...seems to like it...only pulling about 7600 rpm's.....ran 65's (cat recommended for this elevation) and ran like crap....got on the wrong side of the power curve...Only mods are RKT's head and clutch kit....put the orange/white spring in the primary and Cat's Sno Pro Green in the secondary....love how it backshifts coming down off a climb campared to stock....I'm thinking maybe 68's this year to see what it does.....anyone else?

Hey Fastfreddy, I have an 07 M8 with pretty much the same setup. RKT head 14.1, RKT clutch kit with cat green in middle hole, stock orange white primary and I am using the 73 cat weghts. I was also around the 9000+ ft and was pulling 7600-7650. The 07 makes the best power around the 7600 mark. Throw the 07 sticker away with their clutching suggestions. They were way off that year!

Many improvements to the front clutch. Tune to your elevation (the chart is close).

But, IMHO you got to get rid of the straight 36 helix to let this motor work.

What do you suggest for a helix? I just bought a 42/36 so hopefully that is what you are thinking.;)

I think the Snow Tech article explains the no`s are from a slow pull on the dyno (also a bit of an eastern add).
Not real world in my book or what I see on my speedo in the snow. But make `er scream. It`s your sled.

Plus the dyno was prob around sea level.Dynos only give you a number, the true test of any engine is on the hill(or track, lake, field, road, whatever it is designed for).
