Why do a y-can on a m1000, when a stock 2010 m8 is just as capable and more reliable.

I gots me a 2010 M8 with some light mods, fun, easy, pretty much bullet proof. Blew first belt at 500miles...

King of the Mtn, M1000 every time. I can keep up with VERY lightly modded M1000's under most conditions. Long pulls in the deep the 1000 kills it with just a Ypipe, intake, and can. Which is pull and go.

Rode with a 1000 today with the full slp pipe set/pcv/egt/etc... And that sled was in a different league... talking like 10 sled lengths and +10mph at the top of a climb. Very nice, but not pull and go, still working on a low end bog on that sled. 160hp M8 vs 190hp M1000 How can you compete with 30hp? I am a way better rider though:face-icon-small-ton

I really like my M8 but the M1000 is better for climbs, even lightly modded.

And you bastards didn't even bother stopping to say hey!!!:face-icon-small-sho (you missed out on some killer chili that peter made though! We brought it up to our wedding rock)

Is it better than it was last year though with the other box? Now with the PCV it's that much tougher to work on that bog though, that's a bummer.

Btw wyo... same setup you've got & he's on his 2nd box & it's been not terribly smooth when I've ridden with it.

I'm riding 2010 M8 with the SLP performance package with V-Force. Havn't been on the snow yet. But I'm sure it will rip.
I've had several sleds done by SLP and they all run awesome!!

So, I would venture to say, your done M1000 won't beat my M8 by much if any.

The 8 is what?? Only 30 pounds lighter??

Bahh Wahhhhhhh!!

M1000 153

i will say one thing, you cant get a m1000 in 153.

I just purchased a NEW 2009 M1000 153 from an Arctic Cat dealer in Idaho.. In fact the reason I purchased it was because I wanted a M1000 153 Cat and who could pass up a 2009 M1000 153 for $7950.00? It has full warranty I just need to take it to cpc and get it setup!

If you look close at the last pic on the right you will see the 153 stamped on the tunnel!

Evil,
Not sure if you are kidding or not, but that 30 hp will crush a 30 lb difference quickly given any distance/climb to run.

BCIL,
Yeah too many people there we couldn't find you, reminded me of Denver.

I'm not sure why all you guys are even talking about this.

MY sled is actually the fastest sled I've ever seen. There's no way you can even come close. no way.

Wanna know how fast my sled is? Just ask me. It's fast.:cheer2::lol::lol:

No, I'm not kidding. And it won't be 30hp. The SLP performance package will push the M8 to the 180's. And be 30lbs lighter.

I didn't say it would beat the 1000 for sure but its going to be way closer than you think.

Evil,
Keep us posted on the 180hp M8, that would indeed rip.

Wait, WyoBoy1000 do you have a Boondocker Box AND a Power Commander on your M1000:face-icon-small-sho your sig has both?

does the slp performance package you speak of now include nitrous or a turbo that we all dont know about? 180 seems a little far fetched?

Is it far fetched? 160-165hp stock.

Y-pipe-Can-V Force-porting-head work = 180ish.

Is that far fetched. I don't think so. I sure hope not.:face-icon-small-coo

If you do the same work to a M1000 you will be well over 200 hp.

It pulls much harder than last year with Eric's (Racinstaion) PCV mapping but with the same bottom end bog. I'm working with him on different mapping and hoping we'll get it figured out before the big snows come.
