2000 AC 600EFI using too much oil

I just bought a different sled and rode last weekend and I burnt a ton of oil, pretty close to a full tank of gas to 3/4 tank of oil. That is an insane amount! It seemed to run ok, just smoked a little more. The mpg was in line with the other sleds I was riding with.

Last night I verified that the oil pump was adjusted properly...what else can I check to get the oil consumption back within reason?
