deer valley sask.
i have been thinking of upgrading one of my 530hcx to the new touch screen, i spoke with the garmin tech people and they recommended to stay with the 530 as the touch screen is not designed to work in the cold, many days i mount it on the dash of the sled with a RAM mount and a tether. has anyone been using the new rino in the cold. i run the 530 with the back light on all the time and have never had a screen issue. any thoughts

It's hard to argue with the 530. I am amazed at the battery life with the lithium ion rechargeable. I used to run a 120, which I liked for the huge text size when in that mode. The text size is a lot smaller on the 530, but it is a nice platform.

I just bought 3 650s for me and my boys. Man I hope they work in the mountains. I always keep it in my avy vest pocket, don't want to mount it on the bars so we will see.
