Food For Thought RPM Issues

My '17 Axy's ran flawless for the first 1,000 miles, then it struggled to run proper RPM's for the next 1,300 miles. I even clutched a tad lighter and 7,950 to 8,000 is all it would achieve regardless of clutch set-up. The motor went south at 2,300 miles. My warrantied motor is running very strong, just like when the sled was new. I was also able to go back to 10-62's and pulled 8,100 to 8250 RPM's all weekend long at 8,000 to 10,000'. Are we all chasing our tail believing it's all motor mounts, EV valve cables, TPS issues, worn belts and so on so forth. I now believe I lost my ring cylinder seal and running compression at about 1,000 miles, we'll see if this new motor also gets weak over the next couple months. If the EV valves weren't such a pain to remove I'd perform frequent piston inspections, but as long as I have warranty I'll just run it till it pukes.

I totally agree that the warranty should cover any issues but, I want to figure things out before I am 30 miles away from the truck and have a motor go south on me. I really wish the dealers would look at this stuff before something breaks. Hope your new motor keeps running good for you.

Has anyone ever maintained like new performance for over 2,000 miles or 100 hours? I'm thinking of running VES Race instead of the standard VES, does anyone feel I'd get better cylinder and piston longevity? Since 2004 I've lost 14 motors on account of scuffed pistons and flaked nicasil. (they all failed between 1,700 and 2,000 miles) Some ran 300 to 400 miles all scuffed up before they seized, I have a hunch my Axys was badly worn at 1,000 miles, Polaris won't warranty until they seize up leaving you no choice in the matter. I hope my new motor will run strong for more than 50 hours. What do you think about always running 100:1 premix plus injection?
