My 2001 AC MC 600 Carb lost spark yesterday. I have to check the usual switches and wiring. I am also looking for ohm specs for testing the stator and coil.

Many times the stator will check out within the limits but it is your issue, with the age I would lean towards the stator.

Thanks for the ohm specs. I do not know if these specs are valid for the 2001 600 VEV. I am learning the electrical components (stator and CDI) are unique for this motor and and were only used on 2 sleds the 2001 Mountain Cat VEV and the 2001 ZR VEV. The list price for the CDI is $960 and they are hard to find. I did find a used one on Ebay for $95 which I picked up Just in case and to have a spare. I also found a new OEM stator I picked up on ebay for $200. Even if my problem is currently not the stator I will install the new one anyway. I occasionally have problems with missing if I am in a lot of powder. I did have the ignition go down on me 2 years ago and after a week with only checking wiring the spark came back. Maybe I have a minor short in the stator that only shows up with some moisture. I had disconnected the throttle safety switch years ago.

I just got up to the cabin where I parked my Mountain Cat Monday with no spark. I pulled the rope and it fired right up and runs perfect. I must have a moisture issue that is intermittedly killing the spark.

This thing has me totaly confussed. Now I consistantly lose spark within 3-5 minutes of riding. Let it sit and spark will come back for 3-5 minutes. I replaced the CDI with a used unit still the same response. I replaced the stator with new OEM, same response, I replaced the external coil with a used unit, same response. I have no Idea where to look next. HELP!
